Power Macintosh 6100/66AV
Performa 6110CD
Desktops1995Common
The first Power Mac, introduced as Apple's transition to PowerPC — a joint architecture developed with IBM and Motorola designed to leapfrog Intel performance. The 6100 used the same PDS expansion slot from the Quadra it physically resembled, making the PowerPC transition relatively smooth for existing Mac owners. Running at 60 MHz, it was significantly faster than any 68k Mac for most tasks.
