The PowerBook Duo was Apple's radical answer to the question of what a laptop should be: strip out everything that belongs on a desk — large display, full keyboard, expansion slots, floppy drive — and make the laptop as thin and light as possible. The result weighed 4.2 pounds and docked into the Duo Dock to become a full-featured desktop Mac. The Duo 210 and 230 launched the concept in 1992; the 270c, released in 1993, added color.
