Power Macintosh G3 Desktop
Beige G3
Desktops1997Common
The Power Mac G3 was the machine that began Apple's recovery. Introduced in 1997 under Steve Jobs, it replaced the chaotic Performa, Centris, and Power Mac product lines with a clear professional desktop. The G3 chip's performance-per-watt was exceptional; it ran faster than Intel's Pentium II at the same clock speed. The G3 tower is the machine that stabilized Apple's product line and restored confidence in the Mac platform.
