The Lisa 2 cut the original Lisa's price in half — from $9,995 to $3,495 — by switching to a single 3.5-inch Sony floppy drive and reducing RAM. The Lisa 2/5 added a 5MB external ProFile hard drive; the Lisa 2/10 had an internal 10MB drive. All three ran a revised Lisa Office System with improved performance. Apple sold them knowing the Macintosh was six weeks away from launch — the Lisa 2 was always a clearance strategy as much as a product.
